Contributions to Diabetes Health Care
- Has been responsible for evolving and establishing the 1st structured Diabetes Patient Education Programme in India. This model has been implemented widely throughout the country.
- Also responsible for starting the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and developed Diabetes Diet System for Indian patients and is the Founder President of Indian Diabetes Educators Association.
- Recent progress work has been on Psychosocial aspects on Diabetes in the developing countries.
Research Paper Presentation
Our study on "Fear of Hypoglycaemia among Diabetic subjects" was presented at the conference, Journal of Association of Physicians in India. This paper has been awarded as the "Best Poster Award" during the Diamond APICON held at Mumbai, January 2005.
