Institution: India Diabetes Research
Foundation Duration of the Programme: 3-4 Years The institution is recognized
by the university to conduct research programmes leading to the award of PhD
degree in diabetology. Eligibility: MBBS, MD, MDS, M.Sc
Mode of Selection: Candidates
will be interviewed by the institutional research and advisory board for their
suitability and competency in conducting research work. Prof.A.Ramachandran and Prof.K.Raghavan
are recognized guides by the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University.
Course Work: Candidates would require their topic and project
summary to be approved by the University’s screening committee before
initiating their project at IDRF. During their research period they will be trained
in Good Clinical Practice, Schedule Y, laboratory techniques and in research
methodology. The university will conduct a research methodology exam at the end
of first year for all candidates. Candidates who pass the exam will be allowed
to continue their research work. At the end of the research tenure they shall
submit their synopsis and thesis for evaluation by the examiners. A public viva
voce will be conducted by the University for the Candidate to defend his/her
research work.
